Study Culinary Arts at Oakland Community College in Farmington Hills

Learn to prepare a French dinner, decorate cupcakes, handle a wine menu or prepare a summer party.

Oakland Community College’s award-winning Culinary Studies Institute presents an exciting variety of culinary classes for beginners in March and April at the school's Orchard Ridge Campus in Farmington Hills. Classes typically run one or two nights.

The offerings are –

  • French Kissed Wine Country Feast. Learn to prepare an authentic French dinner using fresh versatile ingredients, and pair the courses with French wines. Thursday, March 7, 5:30 p.m.-10 p.m.

  • Springtime Cupcakes and Cocktails. Welcome spring by learning how to frost, fill and decorate six varieties of cupcakes, and how to mix five different cocktails as well. Thursday, March 14, 5:30 p.m.-10 p.m.

  • Tasting Your Way Through a Wine Menu. This two-night class provides a sampling of eight wines each night and teaches you how to locate them on a wine menu. Wednesdays, March 20 and 27, 6 p.m.-9 p.m.

  • Easy Breezy Summer Entertaining. Learn how to prepare an assortment of fresh, flavorful appetizers and fun, easy cocktails. Thursday, April 11, 5:30 p.m.-10 p.m.

All classes are held on the lower level of the Orchard Ridge Campus’ Building J.
