With the Downtown Farmington Founders Festival taking over from July 15-17, what happens to the event that typically occupies that space every Saturday?
The Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market will move ever so slightly July 16 to a spot adjacent to the pavilion near in the Downtown Farmington Center. And it will be a "growers only" market, putting the spotlight on Michigan produce, from root vegetables to seasonal fruit.
Here's what you need to know about market day July 16:
Hours: The market will be open for extended hours, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Farmington Fit walk: Because of Founders Festival activities, the Farmington Fit walk normally scheduled at 10 a.m. has been canceled. It will be back July 23—or you can join the group walk at noon every weekday. Meet at the pavilion; the walk will be led by a downtown ambassador.
Music at the Market: Daniel Goree, a solo artist from the Pacific Northwest, has traveled around the world and brings a wide variety of sounds and perspectives to his interpretation of American rock 'n' roll, rhythm and blues, Motown and country. He'll perform 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
