T-Minus 7 Days to the Downtown Farmington Founders Festival

Help the Friends of the Library by taking a few books off their hands.

The rows and stacks of books at the annual Friends of the Farmington Community Library sale during the Downtown Farmington Founders Festival are always hard to resist.

The sale returns to its downtown Farmington location on the east side of Farmington Road, just south of Grand River. The wide selection includes books for all ages, fiction and non-fiction, hard-covers and paperbacks. You'll also find CDs, DVDs and video games, books on tape and CD.

Browse the tables Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. If you're a real bargain hunter, hit the Bag Sale from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, when books are just $3 a bag. (Bags will be provided.) Prices range from $3 for books on CD and $2 for an adult hardcover to just 50 cents for a children's paperback book.

Not only will you be getting a great deal on books and other items, you'll be supporting programs at both the and . In just the past few months, Friends of the Library have sponsored Family Fun in Riley Park, Battle of the Books and Potter Pallooza events. They also fund library improvements, like the addition of new literacy stations in the children's departments.
