UPS Grant Helps Sweet Dreamzzz

The nonprofit will use the grant to educate more than 700 Detroit school children.

Farmington Hills-based charity Sweet Dreamzzz Inc. received a $8,600 grant from The UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of UPS.

The grant will be used to serve Marcus Garvey Academy in Detroit with the Sweet Dreamzzz R.E.M. (Rest. Educate. Motivate.) Sleep Program in September.

“We are so grateful to UPS for their support of our Sleep Education Program,” executive director Nancy Maxwell said. “They are an amazing company that is dedicated to giving back to the community. This grant will help Sweet Dreamzzz serve over 700 at-risk children in Detroit with our Sleep Program and full size sleep kits for every child."

The kits, which children receive after taking part in an educational program, include a sleeping bag, nightshirt, socks, toothbrush, toothpaste and more.
