Watch, Listen for Farmington Hills Connections in Thanksgiving Parade

Music written by Yessian Music and a Mid American Pompon performance have become staples in the annual event.

Two Farmington Hills businesses will be prominently featured in America’s Thanksgiving Parade, which steps off at 9:05 a.m. Thursday on Woodward and Mack in downtown Detroit.

Yessian Music composed a new parade theme, titled "86 Years" to celebrate the parade's long history. According to Dan Yessian, the music has "a jazzy rhythm that gives a nod to Broadway, but is squarely rooted in Detroit funk." Last year's theme was titled, "Celebrate America ... Celebrate Detroit".

Mid American Pompon All Stars continues its more than a quarter-century tradition of performing in the parade. They'll go through their routine up to 40 times along the parade route.
