When: Saturday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Why go: The Farmington Hills/Farmington Emergency Preparedness Commission is offering a free first aid awareness training class on Saturday, but you must pre-register to attend. The 15-minute sessions taught by a professional First Responder or First Aid Instructor will include: CPR, AED use, choking, bleeding control, burn treatment, splinting and the 911 dispatch system. Although you will not receive certification for attending, you will learn some life-saving techniques. You never know when an emergency might strike, so this free class could just be the gift of life. Call 248-473-1800 to register.
