West Bloomfield Power Outage Affects Portion of Farmington Hills

More than 5,000 without power on Monday night, according to reports.

Reports of a wide-spread power outage in southern West Bloomfield clouded the DTE Energy Outage Map on Monday night.

The area outage was reported at 7:12 p.m. for approximately 5,750 DTE Energy customers, mostly in the high-density areas between Walnut Lake Road and 14 Mile Road to the north and south, and Orchard Lake Road west to Drake Road. Additionally, a large portion of customers north of Maple Road, just west of Middlebelt Road are without power, according to the map.

A portion of Farmington Hills is affected in the outage, near 14 Mile and Drake roads.

The estimated time of restoration is between 10 p.m. Monday night and 12 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to the map.

The cause of the outage is unclear. Patch has reached out to DTE and will update this story with more information as it becomes available.

The weather forecast in the area tonight will be partly cloudy, with a high of 23 degrees and a light wind, according to the National Weather Service.
