Farmington/Farmington Hills Foundation thanks Miss Farmington and her Court for giving to Back Pack Program

Miss Farmington makes generous donation to the Farmington Back Pack Program at city council meeting.

When we think about the Farmington Farmington
Hills Foundation for Youth and Families, we tend to think of the adult
population as the givers while the youth are the receivers. Well Miss
Farmington, Elena Pavlicas and her court reminds us that our youth give back
just as much to the community as well!!!

Elena Pavlicas just made a generous
check donation to the Foundation Back Pack Program to benefit Lanigan
Elementary School at a recent Farmington City Council meeting and plans to host
other fundraisers in our community for the very same program. The
BackPack Program is a strategic partnership between the Foundation, Farmington
Public Schools, Busch's Market and the community at large to address a need for
children that qualify for federally funded breakfast and lunch within our
district. Although this support helps to fight hunger during the school day and
the school year, the need for food on the weekends is a challenge as well. That
is where the BackPack Program has stepped in, to answer that need on the
weekends. The BackPack Program was adopted to assist families in need by
helping children get the nutritious and easy to prepare food they need over the
course of the weekend.

Talk about representing the community and
giving back, charity really does begin at home and we thank Miss Farmington for
thinking of the BackPack Program right here in our very own community.
