Blue Christmas Service

While Christmas should be a time of joy, many people have
mixed feelings, or even feel distress, at Christmas Time. Loneliness,
depression, grief, financial hardship, family disharmony, are but a few of
things that keep the season of our Savior's birth from being a time of
wholehearted joy. While we might wish this weren't the case, we do well to
worship the Christ child in a spirit of honesty, and letting Christ tend to our
need for healing. It is for this reason that St. John Lutheran will hold a
“Blue Christmas Service,” Wednesday, December 18, 2013 @ 7:30 p.m. The service
is specially designed to be of comfort to those who have a hard time at
Christmas. St. John Lutheran Church is encouraging ALL members of our
community, who are “Blue” to join us for this service. But even if you aren't
“Blue” you are still invited to come & support others with your presence,
and to experience a more solemn spirit of preparation for Christmas. For more
information please contact the church office at 248-474-0584.
