              (West Bloomfield,
Michigan—March 17, 2014) 
Chamber Soloists of Detroit will present
violinist Amy Schwartz Moretti, a member of the acclaimed Ehnes Quartet, and
cellist Edward Arron, former director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Chamber
Series, with pianist Pauline Martin on Fri., April 4 at 7:30 p.m. The concert,
sponsored by Pleasant Ridge resident Cecilia Benner, will be performed at the
First Presbyterian Church of Farmington Hills.



            The program
includes the exquisite Trio in B Major by
Brahms; Beethoven’s ebullient Trio, Opus.
1, No. 1
; and the entertaining Cafe
Music
by Paul Schoenfeld.  Schoenfeld
is a Detroit native whose compositions can be heard on many labels including
Angel, Decca and E.M.I.  He has composed
works for piano, chamber ensembles, orchestra and voice.  Schoenfeld is a faculty member at The
University of Michigan.

            Violinist Amy
Schwartz Moretti first performed in Detroit last year when Chamber Soloists of
Detroit introduced the Ehnes Quartet to a mesmerized audience.  She is director of the McDuffie Center for
Strings at the Townsend School of Music in Georgia.  Previously Moretti was concertmaster of The



Florida Orchestra and the Oregon Symphony.  She made her concerto debut at Carnegie Hall
in 1998 and is a featured soloist with American orchestras.  Her first recording, Kaleidoscope, was released in 2011. Moretti received bachelor’s and
master’s degrees of music from the Cleveland Institute of Music. 



            Cellist Edward
Arron made his New York debut at a recital in 2000 at the Metropolitan Museum
of Art and has performed many times at Carnegie’s Weill and Zankel Halls and at
Lincoln Center.  He has appeared in recital,
as an orchestral soloist and as a chamber musician in the U.S., Europe and
Asia.  Arron recently completed a
ten-year residency as the artistic director of the Metropolitan Museum Artists
in Concert, a chamber music series. 
Arron graduated from the Juilliard School and is a faculty member at New
York University.

            Pauline
Martin is internationally recognized for her solo and chamber music
performances and recordings.  She is a
founding member of the St. Clair Trio whose credits include a Grammy nomination
and Chamber Music America/WZXR-FM award. 
The Canadian-born pianist has collaborated with leading instrumentalists
and is a featured concerto soloist with North American orchestras including the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the New American Chamber Orchestra and Orchestra
London Canada.  Martin holds advanced
degrees in piano performance from Indiana University and The University of
Michigan.  She is a West Bloomfield
resident.

Soloists of Detroit concert features complimentary refreshments and
conversation with the musicians at a Talk
