Montessori Explained: The Exercises of Practical Life

What do children learn by spooning rice, scrubbing tables and tying shoelaces?

Purpose of Seminar: The Exercises of Practical Life is a fundamental part of the Montessori educational curriculum. We will discuss how the concrete work of the child's HANDS along with the WILL leads to the Language Arts, Botany. Zoology, Geography, Geometry, and Mathematical lessons conducted in a Montessori classroom. The workshop will focus on how these very attractive, and seductive practical lessons and skills help your child to become an independent, respectful, caring, and self-disciplined person. This presentation will be full of simple, inexpensive, and practical hands-on experiments and routines you could implement at home to help your child develop to their fullest potential.

Who could benefit from attending and participating?Parents, Teachers, Babysitters, Grandparents and other care-givers will learn how to support and nurture their child’s or grandchild’s psychological, spiritual, physical and intellectual needs by linking the head and hands to build better focus, concentration, self-motivation, and a love of learning.
