The free event is being held
Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ford Resource and
Engagement Center, which is located at 2826 Bagley St., Detroit. The health
fair will feature blood pressure screenings, body mass index (BMI)
calculations, healthy eating tips, Heart
Health 101 workshops
and
exercise demos.

“This is a wonderful opportunity
for our Disparities and Cardiac Health (DACH) Program to connect with the Southwest
Detroit community,” said Director of Ambulatory Quality Improvement Angela
Vanker, MPH, MPRO. “We want to encourage people to live healthier lives and to
educate communities on the dangers of high blood pressure and the associated
risk for heart attack and stroke. This health fair is just one of the many free
resources we have for the public.”
