Check-in begins at 6:30 PM; Meeting starts at 7:00.

NORC is exited to Welcome Patrick Wright, Senior Legal Analyst at the Mackinac
Center for Public Policy
.  The Mackinac Center Legal Foundation is a
public interest advocate for individual freedom and the rule of law in
Michigan.  Mr. Wright will present, and be prepared to discuss, a few
examples of the litigation in which the Center is involved:

Fairness of fees for people seeking public information under the State's
Freedom of Information Act.

Proper interpretation of the union grievance procedure and a challenge to the
Michigan Education Association's interpretation of employee opt-out rights
under Michigan's new Freedom-to-Work Law.

Also joining our special speaker roster will be Ms. Jeannie Richards, Founder
and President of Bryan's HOPE (Heroin Opiate Prevention
Education).  Ms. Richard's son Bryan died as a result of heroin addiction
and she is utilizing social media and support from community leaders
to focus attention to this issue.  She will have much more
information on how we can get involved in this effort.

You can find more about both of these speakers and their subjects at the MORC
web site, http://www.norc-us.org.
