"On The Education Stage"
Ask any FCB musician and they will tell you that their life-long passion for music began in a good school instrumental music program. Farmington Public Schools has long served as a model for a comprehensive music curriculum and in 2000 was named “Best In the Nation” for music education in a national survey. For 48 years the FCB has enjoyed a close relationship with Farmington Schools providing adult musicians with an opportunity to continue the musical journey that began in school. Join the Farmington Community Band and the Harrison High School Symphony Band as they combine on stage to celebrate a lifetime of music on Wednesday, February 26th at 7:30 pm in the Harrison High School auditorium. This concert, featuring two of the finest wind ensembles in the Farmington Community, puts a spot light on the metamorphosis of music education, its powerful impact on the quality of life and sends the message to students that the music doesn't have to end with graduation. The HHS Symphony Band, under the direction of Joel Yoder, and the FCB Concert Band, under the direction of Damien Crutcher, will perform individually and then combine on stage for a grand finale with over130 musicians. All Farmington area music students and their families are encouraged to attend this special event. Admission is $3.00 for adults, $2.00 for students and $7.00 for families. Proceeds go to the Harrison High School Band program.
