The Michigan Opera Theatre presents: Behind the Scenes of La Traviata

The spotlight is on the backstage perspective of an opera production. Learn how the singers, orchestra, chorus, costumes and props come together to create one fantastic performance. Michael Yashinsky, Assistant Stage Director of the MOT production, will demonstrate all the elements of a successful stage production and will discuss the fascinating music and history of this controversial work.
La Traviata is based on the true story of Paris courtesan Marie Duplessis, whose life is the subject of a recent biography titled The Girl Who Loved Camellias by Julie Kavanagh.
The MOT production of La Traviata celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of its composer Guiseppe Verdi.
