On Saturday, December 1, the Farmington Area Jaycees will be continuing their longtime quest to bring holiday cheer to the city of Farmington through song and gorgeous lights. For as long as anyone can remember (50+ years unofficially), these local leaders have lit up the gazebo at the Gov. Warner Mansion and welcomed the holiday season with open arms. This year we hope to add some extra magical pizazz to the event. School of Rock will be performing some holiday numbers and a reading of the classic ‘Twas the Night before Christmas will be sure to warm your hearts and toes!
As the chair of this event, I welcome you and your families to enjoy treats from Chicken King, speeches by local dignitaries including Mayor Tom Buck, Miss Oakland County Shelby Gardiner and Miss Oakland County’s Outstanding Teen Vanessa Chambe. I have also received word that a jolly man from the North Pole will be on site to kick off the holiday season, and take photos with the kids in the community.
Don’t forget to bring your new, unwrapped toy for the local Toys-for-Tots organization. Donations will be accepted all evening.
The event begins at 5:30p at the Gov. Warner Mansion in Farmington. The mansion will be open for tours beginning at 5:00p.
The Farmington Area Jaycees are always looking for extra volunteers. If you are interested, please contact Kristin at 877-411-3252 or show up at the mansion at 4p.
Hope to see you all there!
