'Bowling For Dollars' Episode Features Local Champion Bowler

Aleta Sill, co-owner of Aleta Sill's Bowling World in Farmington Hills, throws the first strike ball in the classic show revival's first episode.

Professional bowling champion Aleta Sill, co-owner of Aleta Sill's Bowling World in Farmington Hills, will be featured on the premiere of the all-new Bowling For Dollars, which will air June 16, 7 p.m., on WADL-TV. 

The revival of the classic nightly audience participation program will once again be hosted by local emcee Bob Allison. Taping took place on June 1 at Allen Park's Thunderbowl Lanes, the show's original home, with more than 100 fans in the audience. 

Sill will be throwing the very first strike ball for charity, and proceeds from the first show will go to Bowl-4-Animal Rescue, which raises thousands of dollars each year for the Michigan Animal Adoption Network (MAAN) and the Friends For The Dearborn Animal Shelter (FFDAS). The 8th annual event will be held  Aug. 10, 7 p.m., at Country Lanes, 30250 W. Nine Mile Rd., Farmington Hills.
