Botsford Cancer Center Hosts Skin Cancer Screening

The will host a free skin cancer screening event today.

Botsford physicians will check participants for signs of skin cancer such as melanoma. All are welcome and encouraged to attend, especially those with abnormal-looking or changing moles.

"This event is so important because if not caught early, skin cancer can be deadly," says Botsford dermatology resident Dr. Angela McKinney, who will be among the screeners. "Yet," she continues, "if it is caught early, it is highly treatable."

The goal of the event is to make the Botsford Cancer Center's mission of health accessible to everyone. Nicholle Mehr, the center's director explains: "Our mission at the Botsford Cancer Center is to treat cancer with the best technology and highest level of quality of care and to provide the education and tools to catch cancer early."

Those interested should register early as spaces are expected to fill up fast and registration is required. Call 248-471-8120
