Cars and Clothes for a Cause at The Shirt Box

, located on Northwestern south of 14 Mile, will host Cars and Clothes for A Cause on Sat., June 9, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The classic car show will feature a 1970 Mercedes SEL and a 1996 Camaro Z28 SS, among others. Funds raised from the event will benefit Don Bosco Hall, a non-profit human service agency in Detroit.  

Ten percent of the day's sales will benefit the organization's mentorship program, which provides at-risk children and adolescent youth with consistent adult contact through bonding activities. The program focuses on areas such as mentoring, educational support, career development and life skills.

Classic car owners may register their vehicles for $10 by calling The Shirt Box, 248-851-6770. Car show attendees are encouraged to vote for their favorite auto and will receive a $20 gift card.  A complimentary lunch will be served to guests.  
 
The top three cars will receive a prize from Morels restaurant in Farmington Hills. First place will receive a dinner for four; second place, dinner for two; third place, a $50 gift certificate to the restaurant. Proprietor Matt Prentice recently opened the dining destination with a menu focused on Michigan ingredients.
