UPDATE: Former Piston to Appear at Battle of the Middles Basketball Game

The game featuring staff from Farmington area middle and upper elementary schools collects thousands for the holiday charity drive.

UPDATE: Earl Cureton, a Detroit Piston from 1983-1986 and NBA champion, will make a brief appearance at the annual Battle of the Middles Charity Basketball Game on Dec. 13, 6:30 p.m., at Farmington High School

The game pits staff members from Warner Upper Elementary School and Dunckel Middle School against the staff of Power Upper Elementary School and East Middle School. Battle of the Middles over the past eight years has raised more than $27,000 for the Farmington Area Goodfellows holiday drive and Neighborhood House. 

The Detroit Pistons have also contributed an Andre Drummond jersey to raffle off at the game.

Last year's game raised more than $7,000 and helped more than 200 families in the Farmington area.

Farmington High is located at 32000 Shiawassee, Farmington. Doors open at 5:45 p.m., and tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students, $1 with a donation of two canned goods, or free with a new, unwrapped toy. For more information, visit battleofthemiddles.wiki.farmington.k12.mi.us.
