JARC Fundraiser Features The Rascals Broadway Show

The Farmington Hills nonprofit's Nov. 14 benefit raises funds to provide services for children and adults with disabilities.

JARC, an organization serving people with disabilities, is bringing the popular Broadway show The Rascals: “Once Upon A Dream” to Michigan for its 33rd annual fall fundraiser.

The show will take place Nov. 14, 7:30 p.m., at the Fox Theatre.

More than 3,500 guests are expected to join event chairs David Haron of Farmington Hills, Janis Shulman of Farmington Hills, and Scott Werner of Birmingham for this this rocking performance, produced and directed by Steven Van Zandt with lighting/projection wizard Marc Brickman.

“The show will be an uplifting inspiration for the fans that have been waiting all these years, praying for Rascals comeback, and those who are younger will get a real taste of the ‘60’s they missed the first time around,” said Van Zandt.

New to this year’s fall fundraiser is a special Matching Gift Challenge. Any new donation or gift increase from JARC’s 2012 fundraiser will be matched dollar for dollar by the Michelle and David Carroll Matching Gift Challenge – in memory of David’s father, Bill Carroll.

“Both Michelle and David Carroll have been an important part of JARC for many years and we are honored to keep David’s father, Bill Carroll’s memory alive through this years challenge,” said Rick Loewenstein, Chief Executive Officer of JARC.

The evening will also feature an exclusive young adult (ages 21-40) pre-glow strolling dinner and cocktail reception called Groovin’ Lounge prior to the show beginning from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free to this reception with the purchase of a ticket to the show.

Tickets start at $60, individual sponsorships begin at $90, and corporate sponsorships at $1,500. All proceeds raised at the evening will support JARC’s services for children and adults with disabilities.
