Support Farmington Ice Rink at Skate & Date Fundraiser

A local jazz band will entertain guests during the Jan. 16 fundraiser at John Cowley & Sons.

An evening of jazz, fine food and skating Jan. 16 at John Cowley & Sons will support the Riley Park Ice Rink in downtown Farmington.

“This is an ideal way to support the rink,” said Farmington Downtown Development Authority (DDA) president Melissa Andrade. “I can’t think of a warmer environment to walk into after a brisk skate than Cowley’s. It’s an opportunity to spend some time in the new Year with friends in the community while supporting the rink.”

Reservations are still being taken for the Skate & Date fundraiser, which features a 3-course dinner:
  • Goat Cheese & Bacon Salad
  • Red Wine & Bleu Cheese Teres Major (Beef)
  • Low County BBQ Chicken
  • Herb Roasted Red Skin Potatoes
  • Sweet & Spicy Glazed Carrots
  • Chocolate Mousse Parfait
According to the ice rink's Facebook page, a vegetarian option, Pan Roasted Asparagus Picatta with Scallion Mashed Potatoes and Cherry Tomato Confit, will also be offered. Anyone interested in the vegetarian option should mention it when making a reservation.

Entertainment will be provided by The STM Quartet, featuring Farmington resident and volunteer Stan Bawol. The quartet often places at Detroit’s renowned Baker’s Keyboard Lounge.

Cost is $65 a person or $120 per couple. Cocktails will be sold at happy hour prices. About half of the ticket price will go towards the rink.

Reservations are required; call  248-474-5941.
