Xemplar Club Hands Out $25K at Peterlin's in Farmington

In all, 39 organizations received checks during the civic group's annual Donation Day.

Representatives from more than 30 nonprofits picked up checks Wednesday as part of the Xemplar Club's annual Donation Day.

Held at Peterlin's Restaurant & Bar in Farmington, the event marked a "banner year" for the club, which distributed $25,000, according to member Richard Lerner.

"This was our biggest year ever," he said. "We gave away $2,000 more than last year."

Funds are raised through the club's annual Jon Grant Memorial golf outing, as well as past president Terry Deichert's annual euchre tournament, which last year raised $7,000, Lerner said.
