Farmington Area Churches Host National Day of Prayer Celebration May 3

Held at the Costick Center, the event unites faith and community leaders in praying for national and local government, education and other concerns.

The 5th annual National Day of Prayer celebration will be held May 3, 7 p.m., at the  in Farmington Hills. 

Eight Farmington area churches, joined together through the EACH (Everyone A Chance to Hear) campaign, are sponsoring this event. The Southeastern Michigan region cooperative includes over 500 churches and focuses on doing “Good Deeds and Good News” in their communities during the 40 days following Easter. 

The churches organizing the May 3 event include , , First Church of the Nazarene, Faith Bible, , , Harvest Ministries and .

The program will consist of seven prayer targets; National, State, City, Security, Business/Economic, Public Education, and Family Concerns. Each one will be presented by recognized community leaders, followed in prayer by the audience and the pastors representing the local supporting churches.

"We believe it is the responsibility of the churches to lead ourselves and community to believe God in prayer regularly for the success of our government, national, state, and local, and for that success to positively affect the well-being of each individual and family," said Rev. Paul Bersche, one of the event's organizers.
