Farmington High Student Wins Miss Washtenaw County Outstanding Teen Title

Grace Newlin has also been a contestant in the Miss Farmington program.

Farmington High junior Grace Newlin will be spending more time in the Ann Arbor area during the coming year, as holder of the 2013 Miss Washtenaw County Outstanding Teen title.

Newlin was a Miss Farmington contestant in 2012 and 2013, placing as second runner-up in 2012 and receiving the American Legion Groves-Walker Post Community Service Award in 2013.

"If it wasn't for Miss Farmington, I wouldn't have begun," she said. "(Miss Farmington coordinator) Ginny Morris encouraged me to try the Miss America program."

As Miss Washtenaw County Outstanding Teen, Newlin will be appearing in community events and parades, as well as visiting the Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor. She competes for the state title in June and is working on her grammar, mock interviews and a new talent for that event.
