Farmington Hills Gives a Hand to City's Helping Hands
Volunteer service awards were handed out in several categories by the Farmington Hills City Council.
The Farmington Hills City Council recognized members of the community for outstanding volunteer efforts during a special ceremony Monday. The awards were presented by 47th District Court Judge Marla Parker at the start of the City Council meeting.
Volunteer Recognition Award Winners for 2014:
Business Awards – Terry and Tom Deichert of Roof Management

Youth Award – Talise Lewis

Family Award - The Orrell Family (Dick, Sherry, Sydney, Shelby, and Trevor)
George Romney Volunteer of the Year Award – Joan McGlincy
The Nancy Bates Distinguished Public Servant Award – Inaugural Year Award Winner - Nancy Bates
Certificates were awarded to:
Businesses – The Home Depot, EJH Construction, Bright House Networks, and PKC Group
Adults – Alan Maxey, Sue Horner, Diane Kansier, Ruth Ann Pragg Carter, and Laura Myer
Youth – Keshaun Alford, Ashley Bartram, Breanna Carter, Marquis Eason, Amanda Freeman, Talon Glide, Manasvini Rao, Sydney Smith, Shelby Smith, and Veena Thamilselvan
