You Won’t Believe Who Showed Up to Present Young ‘Batman’ Honorary Firefighting Credentials

A 9-year-old Farmington Hills boy got some chops from the Caped Crusader for quick thinking that may have prevented a fire from spreading.

Nine-year-old Michael Glantz was given an honorary firefighters’ badge and a civilian commendation for quick thinking Farmington Hills fire officials are crediting with preventing a fire from spreading and possibly claiming lives.

Michael was in the car with his mother, Jill, on when they pulled onto Carriage Hill in their subdivision on Valentine’s Day and he noticed a car on fire in a driveway, the flames licking near a tree in the driveway, The Observer & Eccentric reports.

He asked his mother to call 911, just as he had been instructed to do in an assembly at Forest Elementary School last year, where Farmington Hills Fire Department personnel offered fire-safety tips.

Michael said his heroics made him feel “like Batman.”

The Farmington Hills Fire Department presented Michael with his honorary credentials at a special ceremony at the fire department headquarters last week. And a Batman look-alike showed up to present the award.
