Governor Warner Mansion Lights Up for the Holidays

Santa helps turn on the lights covering a 14-foot tree in the Farmington museum's gazebo.

Santa arrived at the Governor Warner Mansion Saturday night to help light the 14-foot Christmas tree, donated by Trident Trees, on display in the Farmington museum's gazebo.

Organized by the Farmington Area Jaycees, the 28th annual tree lighting celebration included seasonal music from the School of Rock in Farmington and a reading of "A Visit From St. Nicholas ('Twas the Night Before Christmas)" by Jaycee Kristin Garstka–with help from Santa. After the tree lighting, children shared their Christmas wishes with Santa on the Mansion porch.

The Mansion will be open this month from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on Sundays (Dec. 8, 15, 22 and 29) and Wednesdays (Dec. 4, 11, and 18). Live piano music will be provided on each day.

The Mansion is located at 33805 Grand River Avenue, two blocks west of Farmington Road. For more information, visit facebook.com/governor.mansion or ci.farmington.mi.us, or
