Michigan’s Memorial Day 2014 Click It or Ticket Campaign Expanded to 40 Counties

Heading out for the long Memorial Day weekend? Expect extra law enforcement on the road looking for seat belt and other violations.

Michigan’s Click It or Ticket campaign kicked off Monday, with law enforcement agencies throughout the state kicking their seat-belt-law enforcement campaign in high gear before Memorial Day 2014 travel begins.

Enforcement has been expanded to 40 counties this year  – an increase from 26 counties during the Memorial Day travel weekend in 2013 – according to a news release from the Michigan State Police and the state’s Office of Highway Safety Planning.

Local police departments, sheriff’s offices and Michigan State Police posts in 40 counties will conduct federally funded safety belt enforcement zones through the busy Memorial Day travel weekend.
