Santa Makes First Farmington Hills Appearance

The Jolly Old Elf rides a firetruck onto the municipal campus at 11 Mile and Orchard Lake.

Children in Farmington Hills got their first visit with Santa Monday, following the annual Holiday Lights ceremony held in the parking lot between city hall and Farmington Hills Fire Department headquarters at 11 Mile and Orchard Lake Roads.

After Mayor Barry Brickner and the children in attendance flipped the switch on lights around the campus, Santa arrived on a firetruck. Surrounded by wide-eyed youngsters, he made his way inside the fire station and spent the rest of the evening listening to Christmas wishes.

Actors from Farmington Hills Youth Theatre and The Actors Avenue performed and led a rousing sing-along, and Miss Farmington Kristina Franchi handed Santa a key to the hearts of the community's children.
