South African Filmmaker helps Northville with Trespassing Issues.

The Parricidal Effect Film Crew has been busy with the tasks of obtaining cast, crew, locations and governmental permits. After days of scouting in counties along the I-94 Expressway and U.S. 23, the writer/director/producer Ryan Davy has chosen to contact an abandoned landmark in Northville Township. The current condition of the Northville Regional Psychiatric Hospital has been vandalized by locals which has made shooting in the building impossible.  The environmental issue has become so severe which has created a situation where compromise is a necessity. 

"It is unfortunate that the vandalizers have made our mission futile. It was the perfect setting but because the asbestos has been viciously exposed, the Board of Trustees cannot permit any visitors into the building due to asbestosis, a fatal lung disease that reveals itself after a few months of inhalation".  Marjorie Banner, the Township Treasurer is looking into ways to help this production utilize this Michigan landmark from the exterior only.  View the attached 60 second video to learn more about how the independent film maker is utilizing Michigan's resources and infrastructure.

The production is scheduled to begin in August 2013 as Ryan gathers the necessary production elements to prove attractive returns for potential investors. With today's market, people are looking for safe tools and vehicles to invest their money into. With the new way of film making, it is now up to the production company to justify the budget requirements and to use their talent and expertise to lower the risk for the investors.
