Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend at the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market

This week's market offers a chance to learn more about Neighborhood House, a non-profit that serves Farmington area residents with a food shelf and other services.

The Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market opens at 9 a.m. today, with dozens of vendors offering Michigan produce, flowers and products through 2 p.m. While you're shopping, stop by the Farmington-Farmington Hills Neighborhood House booth and learn more about the non-profit, which helps area residents in need with a food shelf and other services.

Renovation of the lawn at Riley Park is underway, so vendors will remain on the street in front of , , ,  and .

Cookin' at the Market

Sample cuisine from Sophia's Restaurant during this week's cooking demo at 11 a.m. Located on 10 Mile Rd. in Farmington Hills, Sophia's specializes in Greek, Italian and American cuisine.

For the kids

This week, the Little Sprouts Kids Corner is hosted by  Early Childhood Education, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Music at the Market

Sinjon Smith plays your favorite rock, pop, country and classic radio hits and are guaranteed to put a smile on your face. They know hundreds of songs and even love to take a stab at the ones they don't. The acoustic show features vocalists Diane Smith and guitarist Chris Wietzke along with the amazing lead guitar of Marc Davis.

Friends of the Market

Parking

Parking is available in the Downtown Farmington Center, on Orchard St. (behind the Center) and at the Maxfield Training Center on Thomas St.
