Love in the Springtime

Developing a Garden of love.

Spring reminds me of a budding romance. Like flowers, new ideas of love blossom hoping to feel the warmth of Summer kiss their skin. You plant seeds on each encounter, praying the soil of happiness will be nurtured with glances, words, and smiles. The sunshine in each other's eyes sparkles like the glistening atop a lake where children’s laughter fills the air.

In the spring cleaning of your heart, you remove the cob webs of love gone awry. No longer draped in the garments that hid your fondness for someone else’s tenderness. You have now prepared for the Spring Formal. As butterflies dance in your belly, you embrace them and desire to soar on the wings of intimacy. The melody of your heart matches a harmony sung by birds floating by. The atmosphere is permeated with romance.

With uncertainty of what this garden of love shall look like, you prune and weed with care. As with all things in nature, some rain must fall, which presents more opportunities for growth. Along the path of beauty, you find wisdom and truth with every advance. You are now at the mercy of the natural flow of what blooms and what dies. Holding fast to protect your efforts, you fertilize the crop expecting a bountiful bouquet to be adored by all who gaze upon your devotion.

In time, you begin to enjoy more of this love affair. As if cotton candy, the delicate sweet taste hits you like a subtle breeze. Now you waltz in the rain, knowing your after glow is the result of change and transition to a blissful bounty.  No more games at the county fair for hopes of a prize. If to no one else, you know your display of affection is award winning.

There’s no contest, humble pie may be eaten a time or two, and that’s fine by you. A little improvement never hurt anyone. It will be a wonderful change as you are relieved to enjoy the thaw of a winter of lifelessness.  The ground breaking was tremendous. Nurturing the seedlings with hopefulness. Nature's water and your hand to cultivate gives life to the delicate intensity that is love.
