Optimist Club Charter Member Dies

Earl Friedman started with the local club 27 years ago.

Earl Friedman, 84, a charter member of the Farmington-Farmington Hills Optimist Club, died June 15 in Johns Island, SC.

The funeral will be held at Ira Kaufman Chapel on Sunday 3 p.m., with Rabbi David Nelson and Cantor Samuel Greenbaum officiating. Burial will be at Nusach Harie in Ferndale.

Friedman was preceded in death by his wife, Adele. Survivors include his children, Helene (Richard) Glassman and Michael (Gail) Friedman; granddaughter Jodie (Steve Mientkiewicz) Friedman; great-granddaughter Alyssa Mientkiewicz; brother Bernie Friedman; many other family members and friends.
