Absentee vote for Bond Proposals

As residents of Farmington Hills we received our absentee ballots for the election this week. Our concern is the need for everyone to support the bond proposals for upgrading our education system. Our prime reason when we moved here was to live in a community that had a very good school system. One measure for the school system was the reputation of the teachers and principals that ran the system. The second reason was the evidence that the city residents were willing to support the school system with their tax dollars.
We feel it is important for the school system to update their facilities with Bond dollars instead of operating dollars. The majority of operating dollars should go towards teacher and principal salaries.  Currently there is a need to improve the school facilities for technology, safety/security, cultural arts and athletics. The dollars from these proposals do this in every school consequently requiring the amount of dollars that are proposed.Delay in approving the dollars will only put off improvements for more years and our property values will suffer.
We recommend a yes vote on both proposals on everyone's absentee ballots.
Sincerely,
Tom and Cathy NealWalt and Phyllis Pheeney
