Help Solve a Mystery at the Governor Warner Mansion

Docents at the historic home in Farmington arrived Wednesday to find a "crime scene" on the porch. You're invited to use a little deductive reasoning to figure out what happened.

When docents at the Governor Warner Mansion arrived Wednesday to open the historic home of Michigan governor Fred M. Warner, they found a most disturbing sight.

Browse through the photos above to see the "unfortunate couple", then use your powers of deduction to create a possible scenario for their demise.

Did the couple attempt to steal the pot of mums? Was someone standing on the small stool tipped over next to them?

And who put up all that crime scene tape?

This would be so creepy to unexpectedly find! They way everything has "fallen" in the same direction, it looks to me like these newly weds were victims of a natural disaster, like a tornado maybe. Were there any notable events on this day in local history?
