Annual Volunteer Recognition Award

Time for the annual Volunteer Recognition Award

Annual Volunteer Award given by the Commission on Children, Youth and Families

It is again time for the Farmington/Farmington Hills Commission on Children, Youth and Families to ask for your help in selecting this year’ recipients for those volunteer individuals and organization that make a contribution to our two cities.  The nomination process consists of completing a form, attached with this article and returning it to Kitty Ostach, at 28600 West Eleven Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48336 or faxing it to 248-473-1801no later than Wednesday, March 27.

Nominations are made for youth and adults, families, organizations, businesses, and groups.   Our communities rely on the work of volunteers through service projects, schools, service clubs, religious organizations and many other places in order that our two communities have as many services, opportunities, and support services as we do.  You, as the public, perform a vital role as you help CYF identify and acknowledge those who give so much.

The honorees receive their certificate, and the winner of the George Romney Award is revealed this year on Monday night, April 22, through a reception in their honor at the Farmington Hills City Hall, at 6:30 pm.  The awards are given at the Farmington Hills Council Meeting, immediately following the reception, at 7:30.  Members of the Farmington City Council are also invited.

If you have questions please call 1-248-473-1841 or email Tlipa@fhgov.com or costach@fhgov.com.

I don't know what to "click" on to find the garage sales. They used to be "rightRead More there" when I opened the Patch email everyday. I am assuming they are now listed under something else and I guess I need instructions as to where to find it and what to click on to get to them. thanks

Grama, in addition to our Thursday map, you can click on the Events link at the top of the page, andRead More along the left side, you'll see "Garage Sales". Just click on that, and you'll see all the listings. They should be among the events in our newsletter, too. Hope that helps!
