Autopsy Expected in Death of 82-Year-Old Farmington Hills Woman Found Tuesday

Police Chief Chuck Nebus says Marjorie Caruthers, 82, was found about 20 feet from the shoreline of a pond in the neighborhood where she lived.

Farmington Hills Police have identified the body of a woman found Tuesday morning in a pond behind Clear Lake Drive as that of 82-year-old Marjorie Caruthers.

Chief Chuck Nebus said Caruthers' body was found about 20 feet from the shoreline of a pond near the neighborhood where she lived. Nebus said her coat and medical identification were found on the shore; Caruthers was found in an area of the pond that was not frozen.

"We're calling it a death investigation," Nebus said, "but there is no indication that there's foul play."
