Crime Report: Farmington Resident Reports Fraud

The following arrest information was supplied by the Farmington Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 48-year-old Farmington woman told police Monday that five unauthorized charges had been made with her bank card on Sunday.

According to the report, the woman found charges made to Meijer and McDonalds, had been made between 11:17 a.m. and 2:51 p.m. She told police she had no idea who made the purchases or how her card could have been used, because it was still in her possession.

Driving Under the Influence

  • While responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle on Floral St. near Shiawassee, an officer arrested a driver on an outstanding warrant, on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving on a suspended license. According to the report, the 24-year-old Southfield man had pulled over to the side of the road on Shiawassee near Violet St. and told the officer he was having car trouble. The officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol; a portable breath test showed his blood alcohol level was .09, which is over the .08 legal limit. A check on the vehicle showed it had been reported stolen out of Detroit. The man's driving record showed four open license suspensions and a misdemeanor warrant out of Detroit for improper license. The officer contacted the vehicle's owner, who said the vehicle was not stolen.
  • A 40-year-old Farmington man who was being treated at on Farmington Rd. was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of drugs July 27, after medical professionals called police with concerns about the man's condition. According to the report: Clinic staff told police the man appeared unstable and incoherent, and had on other occasions threatened to take his own life. An officer followed the man as he drove out of the parking lot, and stopped him at Kingslane Ct. and Farmington Rd. Prescription bottles were found in the car, including one that contained Vicodin. A check of the man's driving record showed three previous license suspensions and five previous drunk driving convictions. After his arrest, the man was held in a detox cell. 

Restaurant fight

A 23-year-old Southfield woman was taken to Friday around 12:39 a.m., after an argument she had with a 22-year-old Detroit woman at became physical. According to the report, witnesses told police the two women were arguing when the Detroit woman grabbed the Southfield woman by the throat and threw her to the floor. The Detroit woman ran before police were called. The report indicated the Southfield woman told police she did not want to press charges.

Car wash damaged

The driver of a pick-up truck called police Thursday around noon, after a Ditchwitch trenchmaker sitting on a trailer he was pulling got stuck in a bay at Farmington Car Wash on Orchard Lake Road. According to the report, metal on the eaves and brick facing on the side of the car wash were damaged.
