Detroit Police Recover Car Stolen in Farmington Hills

A 24-year-old Redford Township man faces charges after Detroit Police found him behind the wheel of a 2012 Hyundai Sonata stolen last week from in front of a home in the 27000 block of Cranbrook. 

According to Farmington Hills Police, the vehicle's owner reported the theft Friday morning, and while an officer was writing up the report, he learned Detroit Police called to the scene of a fight found the Redford Township man inside the vehicle. 

Police said the man was taken to Botsford Hospital, less than three miles from where the vehicle was stolen, because he was combative and under the influence of drugs. 

The owner of the stolen vehicle also contacted police late Friday afternoon to report a digital camera, an MP3 player and two pairs of sunglasses had been stolen from a Dodge Journey that was also parked at the home.
