Farmington Hills Doctor Reports Attempted Prescription Fraud
The following information was provided by Farmington Hills Police. Arrests and charges do not indicate a conviction.
A Farmington Hills physician called police Friday, after a Dearborn pharmacy contacted her about invalid prescriptions.
According to the Farmington Hills Police report, the prescription form contained the names of doctors who are no longer associated with the practice, as well as an incorrect address. They physician told police that some of her prescription pads turned up missing when a medical assistant left in 2008, and she reported the incident at that time. The case remains under investigation.
Narcotics charges
Three young adults from Farmington Hills face charges after police spotted their car in the parking lot at Gill Elementary early Monday morning. According to the report, a check of the driver's background showed a traffic warrant on the 23-year-old man's record.One of the passengers, an 18-year-old woman, told police she had a marijuana pipe, grinder and marijuana in her purse. The report indicated that police found a gram of marijuana in a cigarette package, which the second passenger, an 18-year-old man, said was his.
Bomb threat
Farmington Hills Police found nothing suspicious at a group home on Briar Hill Driver Monday evening, after someone called in a bomb threat. According to the report, an employee took the call, after receiving several other crank calls during the day. The employee took all the residents off-site until police cleared the building, the report indicated.
