Farmington Hills Fire: Keep Fire Hydrants Clear of Snow
Firefighters need to find and access hydrants all year around.
The Farmington Hills Fire Department is asking residents and business owners to clear the snow from around all fire hydrants, to keep the hydrants visible and accessible.
Heavy snowfall accumulations and snow clearing operations can leave hydrants buried, which makes it more difficult for firefighters to find and access them.
According to a department press release, "Farmington Hills fire fighters appreciate the extra effort and time involved with clearing snow from fire hydrants."
