Farmington Hills Man Arrested After Duck Incident

The following information was obtained from the Troy Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 23-year-old Farmington Hills man was arrested on assault and battery charges after he admitted assaulting a teen whom he believe was trying to hurt a duck.

Troy Police officers responded to a Troy fast-food restaurant Thursday evening after receiving reports of an assault in progress. Officers spoke with both men involved in the fight.

A 17-year-old from Troy told police he threw a cup at a duck outside the restaurant. According to a Troy Police media release, the teen then said the suspect yelled at him. After the teen yelled back, he told police the man approached him and hit him in the head several times.

According to the press release, the suspect told police he saw the teen throw a cup and try to kick the duck, so he told the teen to leave the bird alone. He said the teen swore at him and taunted him. The man admitted to police that he got out of his car and hit the teen, and when the teen continued to taunt him, he hit him again.

I agree with you whole-heartedly. But the problem is that the government doesn't let us use our brains anymore !! They always have to be involved somehow. That kid should have gotten his bottom kicked good. At least the guy would have a real good reason to go to court !! and maybe even feel good about it. Hope that kid gets his someday again. Especially if he continues on this course.

If he kicked the duck, he had the first punch coming. eye for an eye. When he still taunted the person, he should have known that might happen. He egged him on and got what he was asking for.

I'd slap the kid around too. Mouthly brats seem to be the re now, not the exception.

You should never attack someone. If you see them doing something wrong you get their name and report them.
