Farmington Hills Man Turns Over Crack in Sock to Police

The following information was provided by Farmington Hills Police. Arrests and charges do not indicate a conviction.

A 52-year-old Farmington Hills man faces narcotics charges, after handing a Farmington Hills Police officer crack cocaine that he had hidden in his sock.

According to police, the man was a passenger in a vehicle stopped on M-5 at Drake Road late Sunday night because the registration sticker was obscured and the license plate was not illuminated. An officer who searched the passenger found a container filled with metal filters used to smoke crack cocaine.

As the passenger spoke with an officer, he admitted to having the drugs in his sock. According to police, a check of the man's background showed a number of convictions for drunken driving and narcotics-related charges.

Police said the driver was ticketed for the equipment violations and released.
