Farmington Hills Police Department Adds Three Officers to Replace Retirees

The five officers hired in the past three months 'signify the end of staffing and service reductions'.

Three new officers were sworn in by City Clerk Pam Smith during a ceremony held March 5 in the Police Department Training Room. 

Kevin Rowell, Brett Puttman and Jeffrey Moeller filled open positions as a result of retirements.

Five new Farmington Hills police officers have been hired in the last three months. The recent hirings are the first new officers hired in more than four years.

“The hirings do not increase the size of the department, but signify the end of staffing and service reductions,” Police Chief Chuck Nebus said.

“Our City and Department reputation have provided us the ability to hire top-rated experienced and award winning police officers who are eager to work for Farmington Hills,” he added.

Officer Kevin Rowell has seven years of police experience and has served the last four years in Allen Park. Officer Brett Puttman and Officer Jeff Moeller both worked at the Belleville Police Department for almost five years.
