Farmington Hills Police Break Up Post-Homecoming House Party

The following information was supplied by the Farmington Hills Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate a conviction.

Farmington Hills Police officers responding to a complaint about a loud house party early Sunday morning found two dozen underage youths hiding, sleeping or passed out in a home on Chatsworth Road.

According to the report, police found a 16-year-old Farmington Hills resident, who was obviously intoxicated, standing near the front of the home. Officers heard voices coming from the home and saw movement inside, but no one responded to their initial knocks at the front and back doors. Eventually, someone opened the door and officers went inside, where they found numerous plastic cups containing beer and a partially full quarter-barrel of beer, the report indicated.

The 17-year-old told police her parents were out of town and did not know about the party, which she said was a post-Harrison High homecoming dance  party. The report noted that all of the teens found in the home were Farmington Public Schools students, and most were Harrison students.

Those who were 18 and older, and not intoxicated, were released. The report indicated that parents were called to pick up the other students.

"It appeared each subject would have repercussions at home, due to the incident," the reporting officer wrote.

The report noted that the homeowner's daughter was ticketed for having an open house party. She called an older cousin, who said he would take her to his home and contact the girl's parents.
