Farmington Hills Police Department Aides Become Officers

The department promotes Police Service Aides Lindsay South and Steven Syoen.

Two Farmington Hills Police Service Aides (PSA) have been promoted to the rank of police officer. 

Lindsay South has been with the Department since November 2011, when she was hired as a PSA. She served as an Emergency Medical Technician with STAR EMS prior to joining the Farmington Hills Police Department.

South earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s of Science Degree in Criminal Justice at Eastern Kentucky University and graduated from the Oakland Police Academy in December 2012. 

Steven Syoen has been with the Department since February 2012, when he was hired as a PSA. Before joining the department, he worked in the pharmaceuticals industry.

Syoen earned an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement from Macomb Community College and is working towards his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration at Madonna University. He graduated from the Oakland Police Academy in December 2012.

Both new officers are assigned to the Operations Bureau.
