Farmington Hills Police Investigate Attempted Daytime Break-In

A resident spotted a man trying to break into an apartment in the 14 Mile and Orchard Lake Road area.

Farmington Hills Police say a resident who lives in the Hunters Ridge Apartments complex in the 14 Mile and Orchard Lake Road area called police late Friday morning after seeing a man attempting to break into his home. 

According to the Nixle.com alert, a suspect described as a heavy-set, black man, 18-25 years old, wearing a dark cap and dark clothing and carrying a folder, knocked on the door of the apartment several times before trying to break in. Police say he likely thought the home was unoccupied. 

The suspect was gone by the time police arrived.
