Farmington Hills Police Investigate Thefts from Cars Near Eight Mile, Gill

A Nixle.com alert indicates the break-ins occurred overnight, and vehicles were unlocked.

The issued a Nixle.com alert late this afternoon about another rash of vehicle break-ins, this time in the Eight Mile and Gill area.

According to the alert, all of the vehicles attacked were apparently left unlocked. Police said residents who discover a break-in should not disturb anything inside and should immediately call them. 

"The Farmington Hills Police Crime Prevention Section reminds all residents to remove all valuables from their cars and lock car doors when parked overnight," the alert read. Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to call 248-871-2610.

Over the past few months, both Farmington Hills police and Farmington Public Safety have investigated a number of thefts from vehicles. Last week, in connection with more than 20 thefts in the Chatham Hills area, and at the end of July, Farmington Hills police arrested a man in connection with thefts from vehicles in the Kendallwood area.
