Farmington Hills Police Investigate Tire Thefts

A resident of Muirwood Enclave Apartments is among a number of vehicle owners who have had the wheels taken out from under them.

Farmington Hills Police are investigating the theft of tires from three high-end vehicles during the past week, including four taken from a 2013 Ford Taurus SHO (Super High Output) owned by a resident of Muirwood Enclave Apartments near Grand River and Drake.

Aaron Johnson said he found his vehicle sitting on standard masonry bricks on Wednesday morning. Thieves broke the car's driver side rear window to get at the key for the wheel lock, an anti-theft device. They hit two other cars in the same lot, Johnson said.

Thieves had to roll a boulder underneath one of the other cars, because they ran out of bricks, he added.
